Welcome New International Scholars!

Dear Incoming International Scholar:

The International House staff is excited you are coming to Duke and look forward to assisting you. Our job is to help ease your transition to the United States and the Durham area.

We have important and detailed information regarding your visit to Duke. There is a lot of information on our website which will be of great help to you. For starters, you can link with the various topics below.

We do want you to fill out the scholar registration form (see below). We will initiate correspondence with you after you fill this registration form out. Once we receive it, we will send you our special scholar letter which is not posted on the website. Remember, this registration form is for visiting scholars only.  That is to say anyone who is not an enrolled Duke student.

One topic we do want to highlight is Medical Insurance. This is an area that can get very tricky and so whatever information we can clarify about health insurance prior to your arrival please ask us.   Below is a list of topics that are typically of most concern to arriving scholars.  You will find information here, but are also encouraged to come to one of the Scholar Orientations (described below) soon after you arrive in Durham.  You will have the option of discussing and registering for health insurance at this orientation.
