International House is really an office, not a house.  We are here to help you make the most of your experience at Duke, whatever course of study you may be pursuing or job you may be doing.

I-House is a place for many things.  You can come for advice, get assistance, discuss a problem, attend a cultural event, borrow household items, learn about getting involved in the community, go on a shopping trip, watch your favorite international sporting events, or just hang out in our living room.

In this section, titled SERVICES, you will find lots of practical information related to your settling in the area.

Orientation: This section includes orientation information for undergraduates, graduatesscholars and parents of undergraduates. It also includes Moving to Durham with lots of information about settling in the Durham/Chapel Hill area.

If you are a new international scholar or work at Duke and have a new international scholar coming to your department, we ask you to please fill out the Request for Scholar Services Form so that we may be in touch with you directly.

Need a Ride: We offer weekly rides to the Social Security office and bi-weekly Shopping trips. We also offer periodic trips to the Department of Motor Vehicles in Durham.

At I-House: Here you will find some of the services unique to International House.  You can also reserve Flags for an event you are planning.

Assistance: This section will include information about filing taxes, updated each February.
