CULTURE CLUBS:
"Bringing the World to the Classroom!"
CULTURE CLUBS IS CURRENTLY HOLD THROUGH FEBRUARY 2009.
What are Culture Clubs?
Culture Clubs is a volunteer program that trains Duke international students, scholars, spouse and US students who have recently studied abroad to make interactive cultural presentations to Durham students. These presenters share age-appropriate information about their home countries, cultures, and customs with children in grades K-8. It is a wonderful way for internationals to interact with US Americans and also to improve their presentation and English skills!
To inquire about having a presentation at your school or organization:
Contact Yoko Hisano (yoko.hisano@duke.edu or 919-681- 6080) at least 2 weeks in advance to coordinate presentation details. Presenters are available on a volunteer basis, so there is no guarantee that a presenter will be available from any one desired country or region. However, we will try our best to accomodate specific requests!
To become a Culture Club presenter:
People interested in participating in this program must fill out the online registration form. You will then be contacted to set up a brief orientation and introduction to the program.
