Tom's Family and Language Partner
"The Duke Language Partners Program has been a major-league asset to our home-schooling family. Our children are learning Turkish, and dearly love their surrogate big sister. I've enjoyed progress in this language as well, and had the pleasure of forming enduring friendships with sharp young professionals. We've opened our home to people who are so far away from their own. Turkish culture is strongly shaped by faith and family. Seeing those shared loves operating in an American Christian family is an eye-opener for these sojourners.
The Fountain, a slick international magazine, recently published an article I  wrote that drew heavily upon my experiences with DLP.  Folks, if you want to introduce your bouncy offspring to a totally different language and culture, this is an opportunity at your doorstep. These experiences have enriched our family forever."
